The Date Is Set!

August 11, 2009

                                                                                         LV CHAPEL

We have set the date, time and location of our wedding. We decided that we want to get married at the Little Church of the West, it is located on the far South side of the strip. We loved the fact that it is the oldest wedding chapel in Las Vegas, built in 1942 it has quaint grounds and has all of the original features inside. Gabe’s grandma got married there too, so a bit of family tradition in there as well  I guess! Best of all, it seats up to 100 people so there is plenty of room for y’all to come see us get hitched! The date is Saturday, October 17th @ 3pm.  Invites will be sent out over the summer.  For more info click on the Little Church of  the West in our blogroll for a link to their website.

postcard for website

After five years of living together we have the toaster, the cutlery, the towels, the list goes on!  We decided not to go with a conventional registry, instead we have a honeymoon registry.  To help us get to our destinations we have put together a list of honeymoon items available to buy.  Help us get our new life together off to a fun start!

To view the registry go to www.buyourhoneymoon.com, enter Waters or Patten and the date of our wedding, October 17th.

The Reception

August 11, 2009

big-dogs-blog-pic
Many places have come to mind when looking for a place to have our wedding reception, but Big Dog’s Brewery stood out to us and was really what we were looking for. For as long as we have been together Big Dog’s has a lot of memories for us (yes we can remember them!). It would be a hang out place after Gabe got off his late shift at work, it would be our first stop in the summer for their awesome Belgium White, it was a great place to hang out with friends and catch up over a few Pumpkin Ales and some Sunday Football, it was also a great place to introduce my Dad and Uncle to some Rebel Basketball and of course good beer! When we think of Big Dog’s we think of good times, great friends and that nice laid back atmosphere. That is exactly what we want for our guests. We want you to feel relaxed and have a good time. After all that is essentially what we are all about! So wear what you like, no formal dress required, just show up and enjoy yourself!

*WEDDING RECEPTION AND OPEN BAR WILL START AT 5PM

The Beer

August 11, 2009

The sweet sound of clinking glasses will come not from Champagne but from pint glasses at our wedding! Have a beer on us! Yep, for the duration of the reception there will be an open Beer and Wine bar. Big Dog’s has great handcrafted beer and they are going to have all of the beers on their current menu (some beers are seasonal) available for our guests.  A couple of our favorites are the 38 Special, Holy Cow and the Red Hydrant Ale. Don’t worry domestic fans we took care of you too, water will be available at your request!

LEGLIFTER LIGHT

If you like American-style light lagers, you’ll LOVE our light.

Lighter in color and milder in flavor. 4.0% ABV

TAILWAGGER WHEAT

Our authentic Bavarian-style Hefeweizen is light and effervescent, possessing the characteristic banana-clove aromas produced by the unique German yeast strain. Try it with a lemon wedge by request. 4.8% ABV

HOLY COW! PALE ALE

Our original Gold Medal winner from Holy Cow! This is classic American-style pale ale brewed in the tradition of early West Coast ales. It is light amber in color with a distinctive Northwest hop character. 5.3% ABV

RED HYDRANT ALE

Deep mahogany colored brew, rich with caramel malts & a hint of UK Fuggles hops. A well-balanced beer with notes of toffee & toasted malts. 5.3% ABV

BIG DOG’S 38 SPECIAL

A blend of our two Gold Medal winning beers, Holy Cow! Original Pale Ale and Red Hydrant Ale. It’s the best of both worlds. 5.3% ABV

BLACK LAB STOUT

This rich, dark ale is brewed with nine different malts along with roasted barley. Served on nitrogen, this beer has old-world appeal for stout lovers everywhere and is distinguished by hints of coffee and cocoa. 5.5% ABV

We have a lot of fun plans set up before we get hitched.  We want to get the most out of the wedding and the most out of you guys! We are so excited to be able to spend time with family and friends, it is a treat and we intend to have a good time with you all!

THURSDAY OCTOBER 15TH

last night out sbBallNChain

Bachelorette/Bachelor Party, plans still in motion! Gabe better behave himself! :)

FRIDAY OCTOBER 16TH

sean patricks

We really wanted to go to the Four Kegs,  unfortunately they do not rent out their room on Friday.  We are now relocating to Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub. They have a spacious Banquet room  and they allow bookings on Friday. The room is booked from 7pm until 10pm, drop by for a Guinness and meet the wedding party. You can visit www.seanpatrickslv.com for more info about directions and their menu.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 17TH

Y’all should know what is happening on this day by now!  We do not intend to stop partying after the wedding and would like for you to  hang out with us after the reception in Downtown. We are trying to organize a mini bus to take us there so nobody has to worry about driving from Big Dog’s.  There are no solid plans here, if you guys think of something fun to do we are up for it, suggestions are very welcome.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 18TH

Okay, we know that most of us will have a hang over on Sunday, BUT, nothing like a good ol’ Mexican buffet with bottomless Margaritas to cure it!  We plan on going for breakfast on Sunday morning at Garduno’s @ The Palms casino, click on the palms website in our blogroll for more info.  We have made reservations for 12pm and we have booked for a table of 20, we can upsize/downsize if we need to. Let us know if you want to come. I will also post info on how to get there on the directions page.

Need a Ride?

August 11, 2009

bus

We have hired the services of Bell-Trans to take the stress out of figuring out how you are going to get back to your hotel from Big Dog’s!  The bus will be picking up outside of Big Dog’s from 9.30 – 11.30pm.  We know they will be dropping off on the Strip but not sure which hotel yet.  Once we get a good idea of where everyone is staying, we can figure out a good drop off location that makes it easy for everyone to get back to their hotel or come party with us!

The Cake

September 29, 2009

Our Wedding cake will be three tiers of deliciousness created by Freed’s Bakery of Las Vegas.  This year they celebrate their 50th anniversary so I feel pretty confident that they know how to bake a cake!

Post Reception Drinks

September 29, 2009

Okay, your feet hurt after getting down to James Brown (who knew you could still do that move?) and you got more than your fill at the bar, but hey..you are in Vegas and want to keep on partying right? So do we!  As we are staying at Treasure Island we thought this would be a great place to keep on partying.  They have a great Tequila lounge/bar called the Isla Tequila Bar, they boast that they have more than 100 varieties of Tequila!  We probably won’t get to try them all but it will be a great place to hang out.

*After our Reception the bus will take us from Big Dog’s and drop off at Treasure Island. The bus will run for two hours, from 9.30-11.30
